The film is inspired by Tolstoi's Anna Karenina. Chouga lives in Astana, new capital of Kazakhstan. In her 30s, she is rich and beloved by her family. She falls crazy in love with another man, from a poor family. Taken by passion, she leaves her husband and son to stay with him. However, love reveals to be a lure and passion a trap. Without any hope for return, she commits suicide.
