Aminata Dramane Traoré

Aminata Dramane Traoré is a politician and writer from Mali, where she was the Minister of Culture and Tourism between 1997 and 2000, position of which she resigned in order to "be able to maintain her freedom of expression". Traoré is one of the most recognized African voices in the search for an alternative in opposition to liberal globalization. She says that "to help Africa we must first understand it."
