Clara Laperrousaz (b. 1980, Paris) studied philosophy. The master (first class Honours) she wrote was on Nietzsche. She started to direct with her sister Laura video-art films, then short feature films. She wrote three plays for theatre. She has been selected at the Berlinale Talent 2011. She wrote an experimental feature film named Rodeo (2011), co-directed with Laura, while doing an art residency at the CentQuatre-Paris. Her second middle-length feature co-written and co-directed was Embracing the Skies (Retenir les Ciels, 2013), starring Lolita Chammah. Soleil Battant, co-written and co-directed with Laura, is her first feature film.
