Daniel Rosenfeld (Buenos Aires) wanted to be a pianist composer, but ended up making films. Mass Media graduated, he studied editing with Miguel Perez, staging with Augusto Fernandes, acting with Julio Chavez, and took seminars with Krysztof Kieslowsky, Stephen Frears, Jorge Goldenberg, Lita Stantic, Ken Adam, Alessandro Baricco, Antonhy Mingella and Abbas Kiarostami. He won grants from foundations from Antorchas & Rockefeller, Huber Bals, Fondo Nacional de las Artes, ICI, Jan Vrijman, Berlin Talent Campus.
He worked on several full-length films as director Alejandro Agresti's assistant (Buenos Aires Viceversa, El viento se llevó lo qué, La Cruz -scrip stage-) ,He directed some Experimental shortfilms: "La castidad"(Nahuel Perez Biscayart, for Roberto Jacoby/Reina Sofía Museum), Hamelin (Bafici)
His first full-length documentary film: "SALUZZI - composition for bandoneon and three brothers" ( 35mm, 75 minutes. Color, B&W), was world premiered at Berlin Film Festival (FORUM). This film is about the creative process, through the musician Dino Saluzzi, composer of the music for the film Nouvelle Vougue (Godard) and all about my Mother (Almodovar). Nominated for Best Film Critics Award from Argentina.
His second full-length film "The Chimera of Heroes" (35mm, 75 minutes, Color), a film that mixed documentary and fiction narrative structures, is about an argentinian ex rugby player with extreme and fascist ideologies that looks for his redemption teaching the indians to play rugby. This feature film is coproduced between Zentropa (Denmark)- Serge Lalou & Les Films Díci (France) – received two awards at Venice Film Festival –Official Competition-: Best New Director award, Special Mention from the Jury. Also the Audience Award at Belfort Film Festival, and Jury mention award at Bafici. Nominated for Best Film Critics Award from Argentina.
"Cornelia at her mirror" (2012, 103 minutes, color), a fiction arthouse feature film based on Silvina Ocampo’s novel, the great argentinian writer admired by Borges and Italo Calvino. Co produced with the National Film Institute from Argentina and the Hubert Bals Fund. The film have been successfully screened for two years at cinema. Premiered at Rotterdam, Official Selection at Moscow film Festival, Competition at La Habana film festival. Winner of the annual Post Production Award by HBF, Winner of Best film script adapted by the argentinian Society of Writers and Authors, Winner Best Script adapted by the argentinian society of film critics 2013. Five Nominations to the National Film Awards 2013, by the National Motion Picture Academy from Argentina.
"To the center of the earth" (2015, 84 minutes, color, fiction hybrid), Local Premiere at BAFICI 2015: CRITIC Special Mention AWARD - International Premiere FIDMARSEILLE 2015 (PRIX RENAUD VICTOR)
He also produced and cowrite the documentary "Pianist Streets" (2015), directed by Mariano Nante, closing gala film of BAFICI film Festival 2015 at Colon Theater.
