Hermínia Sol is an Assistant Professor at the Polytechnic Institute of Tomar (Portugal), where she teaches English and Literatures in Portuguese. She obtained her BA in English and Portuguese Studies from the University of Coimbra (Portugal), her MA Hons in Women’s Studies from the University of Limerick (Ireland) and received her summa com laude  PhD in American Literature from the University of Coimbra (Portugal).  She is currently working on a book about Paul Bowles's impressions on Portugal. Part of her research is also conducted at the University of Lisbon Centre for English Studies (ULICES) of which she became a full member in 2009.
