Pappi Corsicato was born in Naples in 1960. In 1980 he moved to New York where he studied dance, choreography and acting. Corsicato shot his first movie, Libera, in 1992 and it went on to receive international critical acclaim. His other works include The Vesuvians, Il seme della Discordia, Il volto di un'altra, and the stage operas Carmen and The Human Voice. From 1994 to date, he has created more than 40 videos centered on contemporary art and such artists as Kounellis, Serra, Gilbert and George, Kapoor, Merz, etc. Many of these works have received recognition and awards at international festivals, along with dedicated exhibits, including among others, London’s Modern Tate Museum and the Centre Pompidou of Paris.
