Actress and director, Lola Peploe was born in England and studied English and French Literature at Oxford University. She went on to study theatre at the Drama Centre London, a prestigious institution where actors such as Pierce Brosnan, Colin Firth and Michael Fassbender studied.


As an actress, Lola Peploe worked in theatre, television and cinema. In 2003, she participated in Bernardo Bertolucci’s film The Dreamers, where she was also the assistant producer and, in 2006, she played a part in Stephen Frears’s award-winning film, The Queen. In 2010, she participated in Mario Martone’s historical drama Noi credevamo (Venice Festival, Official Selection in Competition), inspired by episodes of Italian unification and winner of seven David di Donatello awards, including Best Film.


Recently, Peploe played an important role in a Brazilian production, Obra (2014) by Gregorio Graziosi. This film premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival and won two awards at the Rio de Janeiro Film Festival.


Today, Lola Peploe lives and works in Paris. Her first short-film as a director, No. 27, was selected for the São Paulo International Short-Film Festival in 2015 and will be screened in this year’s edition of the LEFFEST in the section Discoveries.
