Lisbon & Estoril Film Festival

At the 11th LEFFEST – Lisbon & Sintra Film Festival, British fashion designer Bella Freud returns for the presentation of a collection where the relationship with cinema will certainly be present.

Since the launching of her eponymous label in 1990, Bella Freud has distinguished herself through a series of signature collection lines. Allied to her creative work in the world of fashion is Bella’s fascination with cinema, which has led her, right at the beginning of her career, to produce two films as alternatives to a fashion show: Day at the Races and More Clothes. In 1999, with Strap Hanging, she began a close collaboration with John Malkovich, co-writing and producing two more films, Lady Behave (2000) and Hideous Man (2002). In 2013, she directed her first film, a two-minute short, Girl Boils Egg.

Bella Freud, daughter of painter Lucian Freud and great-granddaughter of Sigmund Freud, was a guest of the LEFFEST in three previous editions, particularly in 2010, when a CinemArt section was dedicated to her film work, with the screening of the three films made with John Malkovich.
