Introduction to Arnold Schoenberg’s “Accompaniment to a cinematographic scene”
A film by Danièle Huillet e Jean-Marie Straub
Back
One of a series of short films on composers commissioned by West Germany's Süd-West-Funk television station. Through the recitation both of passages from Schoenberg’s letters to Kandinsky and Bertolt Brecht’s 1935 speech to the International Congress in Defense of Culture, Straub condemns anti-Semitism, the war and the connection between capitalism and fascism.
