In the 1950s, Ty Ty Walden, a poor Georgia cotton farmer, and his sons search for the gold presumably buried on the farm by their grandfather but problems related to poverty, marital infidelity, unemployment and booze threaten to destroy their family. To find the treasure, he conveniently moves a marker out of his way that designates the land on which it rests as a God’s Little Acre.
