Founder of Praça Filmes, José Miguel Ribeiro is one of the inescapable figures of Portuguese animation film. Also an illustrator and a teacher, Ribeiro's dedication to cinema is constant, having directed numerous films, including O Banquete da Rainha (1994), awarded at the Cinanima Festival, A Suspeita (1999), winner of the Cartoon d'Or, Passeio de Domingo (2009), or Estilhaços (2016), which received the Best Documentary Award at Clermont-Ferrand Short Film Festival.
