Karin Berger's documentary Ceija Stojka is a portrait of the Austrian Roma author, painter, and artist Ceija Stojka that rebuilds her biography starting from her nomadic childhood to her later, settled life in Vienna.
Considering the image of the gipsy, from romanticized projections to portraits of exclusion, discrimination, and destruction; looking at the currently ambivalent relationship between Roma and non-Roma people, the documentary brings together both the worlds -- artistic and Rom -- that permeate the life of this fascinating artist.
