Dark Waters

A film by Todd Haynes

Back
Robert Bilott (Mark Ruffalo), a defense attorney concerned with liberal policies, files an environmental lawsuit against the DuPont chemical company after a town is contaminated with unregulated chemicals.

Adapted from The Lawyer Who Became DuPont's Worst Nightmare, published in 2016 in the New York Times Magazine, Dark Waters turns a real-life case of misconduct into a tale that, by blaming the perpetrators, honours the victims by giving them justice and vindication.
