Maggie Gyllenhaal

Maggie Gyllenhaal (b. 1977) is an American actress, filmmaker and producer. She gained recognition for her performances in films such as Secretary (2002), The Dark Knight (2008), Crazy Heart (2009), for which she received a nomination for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress, and The Kindergarten Teacher (2018), which she also produced. The psychological drama The Lost Daughter (2021) marks her directing debut. It won Golden Osella for Best Screenplay at this year’s Venice Film Festival and it will be part of LEFFEST’s Out of Competition section.
