With a strong political and social critique, this Larry Clark movie imagines a post-Watts riots scenario, where a group of black revolutionaries sets up to overthrow a government and economic system that breed an exasperating inequality. One of the group members is the ex-marine Jita-Hadi - the main character at the opening shot of the film, as a child in a Chicago neighborhood in 1945, followingly accompanied by the audience in his progressive political insurgence.

Pairing this clandestine plott with excerpts of the report "Guerrilla Warfare Advocates in the United States", As Above As Bellow is one of L.A. Rebellion’s most politically radical films.
