Barbara (Ronit Elkabetz) is a French filmmaker who is developing a film written and performed by inmates. To better understand its functioning and internal dynamics, she visits the prison every week, meeting with the inmates.

The French director and actress Brigitte Sy began her career as a director in 2009, with the short film L'Endroit Idéal. In 2010, she directed her first feature film, Les Mains Libres, and in 2015, L’Astragale, an adaptation of Albertine Sarrazin's autobiographical novel, and Les Ogres.
