Born in 1922, Ivry Gitlis is an Israeli violinist, who has performed witht he most prestigious philharmonic orchestras in the world, such as London’s, New York’s, Berlin’s Vienna’s and Israel’s. He studied music in France and, during World War II, he lived in England, where he played countless concerts for the Allied forces. In 1990, he was appointed UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador. He has a vast repertoire of recordings with some of the most important composers.
