Born in Lisbon in 1991, Martim Sousa Tavares is a Portuguese maestro, music director of Orchestra Sem Fronteiras and coordinator of pedagogical projects within Movimento Patrimonial pela Música Portuguesa. With a background in Musicology and Orchestral Conducting, he has collaborated with orchestras from different countries and in places as diverse as Rio de Janeiro, Saint Petersburg, Chicago, Lisbon and Milan. He is also the author of weekly radio shows Casa de Partida (2019) and A Lira de Orfeu (2020), the creator of the cycle of lecture concerts Ouvidos para a Música, guest curator of the Hall of Biodiversity at Porto’s Botanical Garden and artistic director of the classical music programme A Boca do Lobo in Lux Frágil.
