Son of the comedian and director Malek-Eddine Kateb, Reda Kateb is a French actor born in Paris. He began his acting career on stage. 2009 is the turning point of his career when he is chosen by Jacques Audiard to play in A Prophet which was awarded the Grand Prix at Cannes and was nomineed for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 82nd Academy Awards. His career took off and he soon began to play leading roles. Reda Kateb’s international career begins when he is chosen by Kathryn Bigelow for a role in Zero Dark Thirty. He also appeared in Ryan Gosling’s Lost River and stared alongside Viggo Mortensen in Far from Men, directed by David Oelhoffen. Back in French cinemas with Hippocrates: Diary of a French Doctor, Reda Kateb received the Cesar Award for Best Supporting Actor. The short film Pitchoune, his first film as a director, was selected at the 2015 Cannes film festival at the Directors' Fortnight. He stars with Sophie Semin in The Beautiful Days of Aranjuez, directed by Wim Wenders.
