Pianist and conductor

Stephen Kovacevich is one of the most famous pianists and conductors in the world. Born in Los Angeles, Kovacevich made his debut performance in San Francisco aged 11, and at 18 moved to England to study under the wing of Myra Hess. After a sensational European premiere in London, he began a long and distinguished international career as a soloist, playing with the most prestigious orchestras and maestros and gaining renown for his performances of Beethoven, Brahms, Mozart and Schubert. As a chamber musician, he has collaborated with artists such as Jacqueline du Pré and Martha Argerich. A fearless performer, he often takes daring risks, both technical and musical, to get the most out of each of his performances.
