Alfred Brendel at LEFFEST

The pianist Alfred Brendel, one of the greatest performers of the 20th century, who came this weekend to give two lectures at the Capuchos Festival, was one of the members of the LEFFEST jury in 2012.

At that edition, Brendel chose three films to discuss (Buñuel's Le Fantôme de la liberté – “the genuinely surrealist film, where the truths of dreams are transported to reality”; and two films “where the English boldness of the 60s finds its place”: Morgan: A Suitable Case for Treatment, by Karel Reisz, and If…, by Lindsay Anderson) and read his poems, from the book Playing the Human Game, which assembles his poetic work, with actor Willem Dafoe [pictured].
