Award Ceremony LEFFEST’22

Back
Taking place at Centro Cultural Olga Cadaval in Sintra, the awards ceremony will highlight three of the films in competition at LEFFEST’22. The festival's awards include Best Film, the Grand Jury Prize João Bénard da Costa, and the Jury Special Mention Best Performance or Script or Cinematography.
The Best Film award distinguishes the film that the jury considers “most stood out for adding something innovative to cinematographic language”. The Grand Jury Prize João Bénard da Costa distinguishes the most daring artistic bets. And, finally, the Jury Special Mention Best Performance, Script, or Cinematography distinguishes the interpretation or script or photography that the jury considers to have stood out.
Following the awards ceremony, Laura Poitras All Beauty and the Bloodshed will be screened, an epic and moving documentary about the life of the artist and activist Nan Goldin and her attempts to hold pharmaceutical giant Purdue Pharma, owned by the Sackler family, accountable for the opioid epidemic. Featured at the center of the film are some of Goldin's greatest works, such as The Ballad of Sexual Dependency; The Other Side; Sisters, Saints, and Sibyls; and Memory Lost.
All Beauty and the Bloodshed was the winner of the Golden Lion 2022, Venice International Film Festival award.
9:30pm, at Centro Cultural Olga Cadaval.
