The main highlights in the first day of the LEFFEST’15 are the two opening films, the premiere of Moretti’s Mia Madre, the beginning of the Barbet Schroeder retrospective and the screening of Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, presented by Daniel Fish.

The 2015 edition of the LEFFEST kicks off today with the two opening films. First, in Estoril, the festival will open with Our Brand is Crisis, by David Gordon Green, at 7 PM, at Casino Estoril. The director will be present at the session, accompanied by Joaquim de Almeida, for a conversation after the screening.

In Lisbon, the opener is Anomalisa, a stop-motion animated film, directed by Charlie Kaufman and Duke Johnson, at 10 PM, in Room 4 of Cinema Medeia Monumental. Both films are part of the Official Selection – Out of Competition.

Another highlight of this day is the premiere of Nanni Moretti’s new film, Mia Madre. This film had two sessions scheduled for today, but due to the high demand of the audience, the 7:30 PM session sold out. As such, there will be an extra session at midnight, in Room 4 of Cinema Medeia Monumental The other scheduled session takes place at Casino Estoril, at 11:30 PM.

The retrospective devoted to Barbet Schroeder will begin today as well. The French director will present his film Barfly, in the 9:00 PM session, at Espaço Nimas. Lastly, we will screen Michel Gondry’s 2004 film, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, at 11:15 PM, at Espaço Nimas. The session will be introduced by Daniel Fish, who created a show based on the final scene of the film, Eternal, which will also be displayed during the festival, at Teatro Nacional D. Maria II.
