Orquestra Municipal de Sintra – D. Fernando II Pays Tribute to Cinema at LEFFEST’20

Back
LEFFEST’20 presents a special programme for the last Friday evening of the festival: a concert by the Orquestra Municipal de Sintra – D. Fernando II paying tribute to the art of cinema. With maestro Cesário Costa conducting the concert, the programme will include pieces that have frequently been used in cinematic works (such as Adagio for Strings by Samuel Barber or the famous Adagietto by Gustav Mahler) as well as themes that have deliberately been composed for the screen (of which the works by Ennio Morricone and John Williams are some of the greatest examples).

An innovative project looking to program regular musical events of the highest quality in the municipality of Sintra, the Orquestra Municipal de Sintra – D. Fernando II maintains a close relationship with the local population, valuing its social diversity and cultural richness. Its mission is to democratize access to music and sustainably contribute to the cultural development of the area.

The concert by the Orquestra Municipal de Sintra – D. Fernando II at LEFFEST’20 will take place tomorrow, the 20th of November, at 8.30 p.m., at the Jorge Sampaio Auditory at Centro Cultural Olga Cadaval. The event comprises free entry but due to the limited capacity of the exhibition space, tickets must be collected at the box office. Reservations are restricted to two tickets per person and should be made through the e-mail address: bilheteira.ccoc@cm-sintra.pt
