Two documentaries on the life and work of American writer and composer PAUL BOWLES, to be screened together. Hermínia Sol, one of the directors, and Irene Herrmann, the musical heir of the Estate of Paul Bowles.
PAUL BOWLES: THE CAGE DOOR IS ALWAYS OPEN, de Daniel Young, which uses conversations with Bowles, interviews with numerous fellow companions, archive recordings and original animations, and THE PLEASANT FEELING OF BEING IN A MORE INNOCENT AGE: PAUL BOWLES’S IMPRESSIONS ON PORTUGAL, de Pedro Cruz, Hermínia Sol, a photo-documentary on Paul Bowles’s long-stay in Madeira and in Continental Portugal, will be screened on November 20th at 4.15pm, at Cinema Monumental.
