THE LIGHTHOUSE premiers in Portugal in “correspondence” with the special screenings of PASOLINI and COSMOPOLIS

The Lighthouse (2019), Robert Eggers’ most recent feature, which integrated 2019 LEFFEST’s Official Selection – Out of Competition, will premier in Portugal on February 14. A psychological horror drama, whose performances by Willem Dafoe and Robert Pattinson have been lauded by the audience and specialized critics, the movie will be screened at Espaço Nimas, Lisbon, TAGV, Coimbra, and Teatro Rivoli, Porto.

Espaço Nimas’ February Program will present a thematic section “Correspondences”, in which The Lighthouse’s Dafoe turns into Pasolini, and Robert Pattinson becomes young billionaire Eric Packer. Pasolini (2014) and Cosmopolis (2012) will see special screenings on February 14.

Pasolini (2014), a non-conventional biopic about the filmmaker, poet and writer Pier Paolo Pasolini, directed by Abel Ferrara, integrated the Official Selection – Out of Competition of LEFFEST’14 and returned to LEFFEST’19 for Willem Dafoe’s tribute program. The screening occasioned a conversation between Ferrara and the audience, which you can re-watch here.

David Cronenberg’s Cosmopolis (2012) is an adaptation of the homonymous novel by Don DeLillo about a billionaire young man and the hallucinating universe of Wall Street. The movie occasioned a special screening at LEFFEST’17 which brought Robert Pattinson and Don DeLillo to Portugal.
