Wim Wenders returns to Portugal! / Special Sessions

Back
The great director is back!

In celebrating Lisbon Story’s 25th anniversary, we have the pleasure of hosting Wim Wenders, joining us for some very special sessions of his films The State of Things (1982), Lisbon Story (1994) and Tokyo-Ga (1985), followed by conversations and masterclasses with the director

The tribute to Wenders also encompasses a concert by Teresa Salgueiro, called Wim Wenders meets Teresa Salgueiro - Lisbon Story, 25 years later.

The director, in Portugal between Friday and Sunday, November 22nd to the 24th, first joins us in Sintra’s Centro Cultural Olga Cadaval on Friday, at 9PM, to watch The State of Things, screened in this very special moment in a new restored 4K digital copy. Afterwards, the director will stay for a conversation with the audience.

Just the next day, on Saturday, we find two delightful opportunities to meet the director in Lisbon: the first one at 3PM, in Lusófona University’s Sala Fernando Lopes, where Wenders joins us in watching his film Tokyo-Ga (1985), in a special session chosen by the director himself to precede his awaited masterclass!

That same evening, we find the famed filmmaker at 10PM in Espaço Nimas for a special screening of Lisbon Story, a celebrated film throughout this edition of LEFFEST, screened in its new restored 4K digital copy. After the session, we have yet another chance of attending a talk with Wim Wenders! This session is sold out.

On Sunday, the 24th, at 6PM, in Teatro Tivoli, LEFFEST’s last day, we say goodbye to Wenders with Teresa Salgueiro’s concert dedicated to the director, marking a moving moment where two artists reunite after collaborating in Lisbon Story 25 years earlier.

In a weekend full of unforgettable moments to personally meet one of the all-time greatest directors, don’t let time pass you by - seize this opportunity!
