Julio Bressane is a Brazilian director and writer, born in 1946 in Rio de Janeiro. In 1972, after his exile in London, he turned his interests to the Brazilian popular language and music. An acclaimed film of this period was the provocative Tabu, released in 1982. Overall, he is noted by his low-budget, short-time shootings, with an average of 11 to 14 days to make and edit a film.
